ULTIMATE INSIDER HOWARD ROSENMAN RETURNS WITH HIS “HOLLYWOOD SELL” TO NEBRASKA
Rosenman’s new day-long producing seminar in Omaha on November 6, 2010

Famed film and television producer Howard Rosenman (“Father of the Bride,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) will return to Omaha, Nebraska with his inside look at producing for the screen, “The Hollywood Sell.”

After a very well-attended introductory seminar last January in downtown Omaha, Rosenman will now return with his day-long seminar, in which he will give an even more in-depth view of the realities of producing for the big screen as well as the steps needed to make it happen. Hosted by the UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AT OMAHA DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE and presented in conjunction with the OMAHA FILM FESTIVAL, the seminar is being held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in the CPACS Building on the Dodge Street campus, from 10am-5pm with a one-hour lunch break.

“I was so impressed by the filmmakers I met during our very productive session in Omaha earlier this year. I am looking forward to really rolling up our sleeves with the participants at this longer workshop,” said Rosenman who founded The Hollywood Sell. During this impactful seminar, Rosenman will share his entertaining, often hilarious stories from his extraordinary 35-year career in show business while coaching participants on their careers and projects.

“Meeting Howard for the first time was an amazing treat,” said Marc Longbrake, Program Director of the Omaha Film Festival. “He brought a fascinating behind-the-scenes look into the art and business of filmmaking in Hollywood as well as a wonderful history lesson and a peek into the lives of the major players in the industry. With his storytelling, you get a sense of being a real insider. All of us at the Omaha Film Festival are so honored to bring him back to Omaha and we look forward to digging even deeper into what it takes to get a film made.”

Rosenman adds, “This seminar is perfect for up-and-coming filmmakers, students or anyone who loves film and TV and wants to know the next step in how to take their ideas and develop films from them.” He encourages past participants to return for an even closer look at pitching, packaging and financing. Participants will have a chance to pitch their project ideas during the seminar.

“With his notable film producing career, Howard brings deep knowledge of the craft and business of filmmaking to his public events. His seminar will be enjoyable and enlightening, and a valuable resource for Omaha’s film scene,” said D. Scott Glasser, Chair, University of Nebraska at Omaha Department of Theatre.

Preceding the seminar, The Omaha Film Festival will present a special screening of FATHER OF THE BRIDE starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton on Thursday evening November 4 at 7pm at Great Escape Omaha Stadium 16 Theatre, 7440 Crown Point Avenue. Q&A with Rosenman will follow the screening. While in town, Rosenman will also be visiting film and theatre classes at both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses of University of Nebraska and Creighton University. On Wednesday evening November 3 at 7:30pm, he will be speaking at a community event for the Jewish Federation of Omaha at the JCC Theatre.

Day Seminar tickets are $75. Students and return participants will be offered a $25 discount. For more information and to purchase tickets to both the seminar and the “Father of the Bride” screening, visit www.thehollywoodsell.com.
